Bunking In – Experience a Night at the Museum

This is a great for schools, scouts, church groups and parties!

Learn what it would have been like to be a member of the Eighth Air Force during World War II; dinner and a mission briefing will kick off the night.

Experience the Museum at night with a unique tour by Rosie the Riveter, learn the techniques of a bombing mission, explore the combat gallery by flashlight and relax while watching a movie before bedtime.

Airmen & airwomen will be called to breakfast by an authentic bugle call! Breakfast will be served in the Pub before an activity to learn about downed airmen in the Memorial Gardens. Participants will receive personalized dog tags at their debriefing before returning home.

Bunking in begins at 5:45 pm and ends the following morning at 9:00 am. Reservations are required and spaces are limited in each sleepover night. Bring your sleeping bag and explore the Museum as it has never been explored before! This experience is great for children ages 5 through 17.

Friday 5:45pm Arrival & Check in
6:00pm Mission Briefing and Dinner in the Pub
7:00pm Experience with Rosie the Riveter: Learn about World War II & the Eighth Air force
9:00pm Learn the Techniques of Bombing a city. A hands on activity- Create and build a city and execute a bombing mission with M&Ms!
10:00pm Flashlight Scavenger hunt
10:30pm Snack & Movie Time Snacks of Cookies, licorice, Hershey bars, Beverages of Fruit drinks and water
Saturday 12:30am Lights Out! If it is a co-ed night at the Museum: Boys will sleep in the Colonial Group Inc., Art Gallery Girls will sleep in the High Wycombe room Restrooms are located near each room
7:00am Wake-up Call & Breakfast: A continental style breakfast will be served in the Pub
7:30am Home Front Learn how life was for children at home during the War OR Escape & Evasion in the memorial gardens Educational activity to learn the activities of downed airmen
8:30am Mission debriefing Participants will receive individualized dog tags
9:00am Departure from museum: Participants will receive a free admission pass to return to the museum as well as a coupon for purchases in the museum’s gift store
